Podiatric Assessment & Treatment
Required by all new patients
If you are new or coming back after a while away there is information I need to gather from you in order to provide the best treatment. I will take a medical history, it can help to bring with you a list of medications. Please give me as much detail as you can, as something you may think is insignificant may actually affect the way I treat you or the advice that I issue.
I will ask you about the problem you are having, how it is affecting you, and what you would like to achieve by seeing me.
I will then examine your feet. This will mean looking at the skin, nails, circulation, and depending on the problem may involve me moving the joints or looking at you standing or walking. I'll let you know what I'm thinking as we go. We'll then discuss what's been found and what options are available to help you. If necessary, I will write a letter to your GP to discuss my findings.
I will carry out any general podiatry treatment there and then. Though if surgery or other treatment is recommended you may have to return another day.
